Identity Research

This is a student facing program that the founders of the Omni-Institute have created to help schools decolonize their learning landscape and create connections to place and community. When we decolonize the learning sphere we validate and empower students experiences and help them to form their own identities rather than placing an identity onto them. Identity research builds solidarity between staff and students while simultaneously improving research standards, abstract discourse, criticality, interdisciplinary minded thinking and ultimately inspiring students' natural intellectual curiosities.

The entire process is catalyzed by the existential crisis—we were born into a world we didn’t create, now what? Who are we? Why are we here? What are we supposed to do? Through this excavation and the use of phenomena and placed based education each student experiences what it means to confront their own intellects and curate their own learning. Integrated Instructional Coaching

Our coaching model empowers teachers with the tools they need to evolve in a hybrid world. Whether you have new teachers in need of support and weekly learning, or seasoned teachers in need of innovation and evolution of practice, our coaches come to each scenario with a fresh set of eyes. We start by coming to your school, in-person, for a week, to observe the classes in need and get a full understanding of each unique situation. Then, we work with your pedagogues virtually to lesson plan, create projects, practice new approaches and essentially shift beliefs. After a couple months of weekly work we come back to assess the improvements and see what the next steps are.

Professional Learning Experiences

Our founders, as well as our network of consultants, have presented at conferences like COSEBOC, SXSW, ASCD and more. We do not come in to your schools to sell a product or a protocol we curate our professional learning experiences around your goals and aspirations. We specialize in Interdisciplinary exploration and project creation, phenomena and problem based learning practices, antiracist pedagogy and equitable engagement, identity research, innovative practices and designs, ed-tech integration, vertical alignment of writing across disciplines, land-based education and building a philosophy room or one room school house on campus or in the virtual realm. Although these are our passions we haven’t come across a topic or initiative yet that we haven’t had experience with and been able to encourage learning and participation around.
